Omega
Omega’s history dates back to 1848, when Louis Brandt began assembling watches from supplied parts. After Louis’s death, his sons Cesar and Louis-Paul started their own watchmaking business in 1879, and in 1885 they achieved a precision of 30 seconds per day with their Labrador movement. Just 4 years later, Louis Brandt & Fils was the largest watchmaker in Switzerland, producing 100,000 watches a year. The Omega name first appeared on the factory’s low-maintenance pocket watch calibre in 1894. Today, Omega is best known as a developer of sports timekeeping technology. Omega’s most popular models are the sporty Speedmaster and Seamaster and the DeVille dress watch.
