Oris
Oris was founded in 1904 by Georges Christian and Paul Cattin in Hölstein, Switzerland. The company was named Oris after the name of a stream near the factory the duo bought. By 1929, the company had grown to 6 factories, making it the largest employer in Hölstein. Oscar Herzog, who took over in 1928, led the company until 1971. In 1938, Oris introduced its first pilot’s watch, the Big Crown, which is still very much a part of the Oris range. Some of the most popular watches in the current Oris range are the Oris Aquis diver’s watch, the Oris Big Crown pilot’s watch and the motorsport inspired Oris Chronoris and Oris TT1.
