Tag Heuer

Edouard Heuer founded his watchmaking workshop in St. Imiers, Switzerland, in 1860. In 1869, he applied for a patent for his pin-winding mechanism instead of a key-winding mechanism. In 1876, Heuer founded a group of girls in London. In 1883, Heuer won a silver medal for his watch at the Amsterdam Fair. Jules-Edouard Heur, Edouard’s son, joined the company in 1888 and in the same year Heuer patented the repeater watch. Heuer watches were introduced in the United States in 1910 and the Heuer logo was introduced in 1912. Jack Heuer, who joined the company in 1958, introduced the legendary Carrera collection in 1964. In 1985, the TAG Group acquired a majority stake in Heuer, creating the new Tag Heuer. Today, Tag Heuer’s most popular lines are the Carrera, Autavia and Aquaracer.
