Tudor
Rolex founder Hans Wildorf sought the rights to British royal names in the 1900s and, after a twenty-year wait, acquired the Tudor brand name, which had long been owned by a Geneva jeweller. Finally, in 1946, Montres Tudor SA began manufacturing watches in Geneva. The very next year, the first Tudor watch was launched, with a Rolex Oyster case. The Tudor Oyster Prince was introduced in 1952, followed by the Tudor Advisor in 1957. For the US Navy, Tudor supplied the Tudor Prince Submariner from 1964 to 1966. Today, Tudor has established itself as a brand with a strong following as an independent manufacturer of reliable watches. The most popular models in the current Tudor collection are the Tudor Black Bay and the Tudor Pelagos.
