Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin was founded in 1755, making it the oldest company still making watches. The company was founded by watchmaker Jeac-Marc Vacheron and in 1785 his son Abraham Vacheron took over the management. In 1810, the company was taken over by the founder’s grandson, Jacques-Barthélemy Vacheron, who later entered into a partnership with businessman Francois Constantin in 1819. The company was renamed Vacheron Constantin. Today, since 1996, Vacheron Constantin is part of the Richemont Group. Vacheron Constantin has supplied its watches to numerous celebrities such as Queen Elisabeth II, Pope Pius XI, J.D. Rockefeller, Marlon Brando, Princess Diana. Since 1819, the company’s motto has been “Do better if possible, and it is always possible”. Today, Vacheron Constantin is best known for its Overseas and Patrimony lines. The former is a high-end sports watch and the latter an elegant classic dress watch. Vacheron Constantin is also one of the members of the so-called “Holy Trinity” of watchmakers, together with Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet.
