Jaeger-LeCoultre
Antoine LeCoultre was a self-taught watchmaker and inventor who set up a workshop in the Vallee De Joux in 1833. In 1847, LeCoultre developed a mechanism for winding and setting the time, a revolutionary development at a time when watches were still wound using a key instead of a winding button. In 1903, the collaboration between Antoine LeCoultre’s grandson Jacques-David LeCoultre and Edmont Jaeger proved successful, combining ultra-thin movements and sophisticated design in their watches, and in 1937, the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand was born. JLC has produced more than 1000 different movements and holds hundreds of movement-related patents. The brand is also known as a watchmaker’s watchmaker, having supplied movements to top names in the watchmaking world such as Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. One of Jeager-LeCoultre’s most famous watch models is the Reverso.
